Listerine Oral Care - 3 Week Challenge UPDATE!

A few weeks ago, I told you that we, as a family, would be participating in the Listerine Oral Care Challenge. Can you believe it's been three weeks already?

A little refresher... What is the Listerine Oral Care Challenge?

To encourage good dental hygiene for the little ones, the makers of LISTERINE® and REACH® have created an "Oral Care Challenge" for parents and kids (ages 6 and older) to take on this year. To complete the challenge, kids, alongside their parents, have to brush, floss and rinse every day, twice a day for two weeks-a key step in building a strong oral care foundation.

With the approach of the upcoming holidays, I was a skeptical that my kids (as well as me and hubby) would stay the course. Since the kids were off of school for so long, it actually helped out  during the challenge. Each child was appointed the leader of the day and would choose who would go first, explain the step and demonstrate. For this challenge, we were supplied new Reach toothbrushes, Listerine Smart Rinse and Reach Total Care floss and admittedly, we LOVED it all. Who knew I would say we LOVED dental care supplies?

Anyway, I was quite surprised how serious each child took the role of being the leader for the day. They would instruct each other each step of the way.

The challenge taught them (as well as us) a new routine that they have incorporated into their day. They have always been great at brushing their teeth twice per day, but lacked the step 2 {flossing} and step 3 {rinsing}. Fortunate for us, during the challenge the kids had their actual dental check-up appointments. The dentist was impressed at how well the kids were taking care of their teeth and how they were focusing on the importance of dental care. Although the challenge has ended, the kids now have a new routine and we plan on sticking to it! I mean it is a new year and all... and you know how New Year's resolutions go...
