2012 Get Fit, It's Fun Guide: Body Bar FLEX {Review & Giveaway}

I've noticed during the Winter months and into the New Year that my exercise routine changes quite dramatically. With the change of weather, I sometimes find it more difficult to get to the gym regularly. The snow and ice on the roads can sometimes make it a challenge to get anywhere. I'm fortunate enough to have some cardio equipment at my house, but unfortunately, we have a shortage of strength training equipment - booo. Recently, I heard about the Body Bar FLEX and was immediately intrigued. This single piece of equipment along with an accompanied DVD can offer an alternative form of exercise right in the comfort of your own home... brilliant! So, you're probably thinking what I'm thinking... what exactly do you do with the Body Bar FLEX? Great question... let me explain...

First a little more about Body Bar FLEX

The Body Bar FLEX is perfect for those just beginning an exercise program and for those hoping to increase range of motion while building strength. It can be used for multiple routines including traditional strength/flexibility, sport-specific exercises (such as golf, baseball, and basketball), physical therapy, yoga, pilates and more.

You will build flexibility as well as improve balance simultaneously. By using controlled movement, you will strengthen your core (who doesn't like that) which stabilizes your body and gives you the functional range of motion and balance needed for everyday movement.

The Body Bar FLEX is light enough and can be used by kids as well as by seniors. Although it's light weight, it still a great tool for anyone who wants to stay active and strong.

ace and friends thoughts

Upon first initial use of the Body Bar FLEX,  I was thrilled to see that it was super simple to use. Because it was lighter in weight, I wasn't quite sure how much of a workout I would get from this piece of equipment. Thankfully, the next day was the validation I needed to confirm that I did indeed work my muscles. It was a great change to my usual routine.

When I exercise, I like to have some sort of guided instructions, so I was happy that I could follow along with the Body Bar FLEX basics DVD. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The instructor was easy to follow along with and the pace was just right.

The Body Bar itself, is long (4 feet), light weight and flexible. It can store easily in a closet, behind a door or fit snugly in a corner.

In addition to the Body Bar FLEX, there are other products that you can incorporate into your workout, including weighted Body Bars, various exercise DVDs and strength bands.

Overall, I got a pretty good workout with the Body Bar FLEX and it's certainly a nice addition to my usual routine. I plan to continue using it on a regular basis.
