With the start of the school year, the kids unfortunately are subjected to other coughing and sniffling classmates. One month into the school year and {a} was welcomed back with a new teacher, new classmates and a new  cold. Add to that, Fall allergies and you have lots of not so fun symptoms including stuffy noses, coughing, sneezing and more. Thankfully our friends at Crane sent us over the Owl {Cool Mist} Humidifier. Perfect timing!

hoot, hoot... super cute, isn't he?

Crane Humidifier Features:
    • Increases air moisture for easier breathing and a good night’s sleep

    • Relieves cough, cold, and flu symptoms, including nasal congestion, dry cough, sinus irritation, nose bleeds, dry skin

    • 1 gallon water tank runs whisper quiet up to 24 hours
    • Mists up to 2.1 gallons of moisture per day

    • Effectively humidifies rooms up to 250 square feet
    • Auto shutoff safety sensor

    • Uses less energy than a standard household light bulb

    ace and friends thoughts:

When {a} was suffering from a bad cold, we immediately set up our new Owl friend in her room. It certainly allowed her to get a good night's rest! Crane's super fun Owl cool mist humidifier was super simple to use and it was certainly whisper quiet as promised. You do have to take the reservoir to a sink to fill, but it's very easy and quick. The humidifier almost immediately began to produce a continuous ideal amount of mist into the room. Crane Humidifiers operate without a filter, but you do have the option to use a Crane Demineralization Filter to reduce white dust caused by minerals in hard water.

mist on {set - middle of gauge)

Caring for Crane Humidifiers is simple. Just be sure to empty the water tank and basin before each use, refilling daily with fresh water. Each week, disinfect the humidifier by following the simple instructions using white vinegar and water. So easy, right? Just take a look below on how easy it is...

Crane was voted best kiddie humidifier by Health Magazine, and now I know and see why! Not only are these the most adorable humidifiers I have seen, but they function perfectly!

decongestant, Vicks vapor rub, nasal spray, humidifier, hot drink of some kind (cocoa, tea etc), Vicks vapor plug ins or Vicks vapors for the humidifier and lots of hydration.

My mom used to make us sit over a bowl of steaming water with a towel over our head and bowl , I have done this in extreme measures, but I like using a vapor rub or a shower with the baby soap that is for colds.

For congestion, I like to take a really hot steamy shower. I also take echinacea/goldenseal tincture when I feel a cold coming on. I've use humidifiers in the past, but we currently don't have one. I've been fortunate that we haven't needed it yet with our daughter.

This would be so cute in a little kids room. The only thing is...how do you keep them from playing with it? My daughter had a trash can that looked like a teddy bear and she carried it around the house all the time. hehehe

When we are sick; we use the Hot air humidifier because it's all we have. I'd love to try a Cold air Humidifier that would be safer to use in my kid's room.

WE also add a few drops of Melaleuca Oil in the medicine chamber which helps with breathing.

We also use Herbal teas steeped in Apple juice (Delicious it tastes just like an apple cider and the kids will actually drink it) to book the immune system and it helps with sore throats.
