I've noticed during the Summertime months that my exercise routine changes quite dramatically. I find it harder to get to the gym with the kids home from school. I enjoy exercising, but trying to fit it into my schedule has been a challenge. Recently, I heard about EA SPORTS Active 2 and was immediately intrigued. This exercise game fitness program offers an alternative form of exercise in the privacy of your own home. So what exactly is EA SPORTS Active 2 and how does it work?

First a little more about EA Sports Active 2

EA SPORTS Active 2 with Total Body Tracking features an innovative wireless control system powered by motion sensors in leg and arm straps that provide complete freedom of motion.
It also feature a heart rate monitor that provides constant on-screen monitoring, allowing users to capture intensity and optimize performance over time.

Users are able to track and share their workout data online through automatic uploading from their online connected console to their personalized EA SPORTS Active 2 profile.

EA SPORTS Active 2 with Total Body Tracking makes working out simple, fun and effective wherever you are.

ace and friends thoughts

To begin, you set up your own character profile by answering a few quick questions about your age, weight and gender. You can also easily customize your {character} profile by selecting the way it looks based on body type, hair color, outfit and more. There are a variety of options, so there is an image to suit a variety of body types and styles.

EA SPORTS Active 2 offers quite the number of different exercises. In addition to the multiple exercises, they also offer a 9-week program that helps you keep on track. The 9-week program was designed by certified trainers and provides total body conditioning using progressive exercise. It provides a fitness roadmap to help keep users motivated and on track of their fitness goals. Additional mini-programs are also available to add on, keeping workouts fresh and inspiring. Your personal trainer is also there to guide and motivate you every step of the way.

Next, EA SPORTS Active 2 includes a Total Body Tracking System which includes a Heart Rate Monitor motion sensor that you place on your left forearm, a right forearm motion sensor and finally a motion sensor that you place on your upper right thigh.

Each session offers a warm up, the cardio/more intense exercise portion and a cool down. Exercises include such things as boxing, soccer, biking, basketball, cardio and yoga. You can change your routine daily to keep things fun, interesting and most importantly motivating.

Finally, once you complete your workout, you can review the results of your exercise. You get some great analytics/stats including graphs that are tracked by the Total Body Tracking System. You can view such things as workout time, number of workouts, heart rate (including calories burned) goal progress and more. What's also pretty useful is that you can keep a journal of your daily food intake, lifestyle habits, etc. Another great feature of EA SPORTS Active 2, is the ability to personalize your workouts with your own music. I am fond of listening to motivating music during my workout, so this was an added bonus for me.

Overall, EA SPORTS Active 2 is pretty awesome. It's a great way to have a personal trainer right at your fingertips without the included high session fees. It is also perfectly convenient when you can't get to the gym or don't have an available facility. EA SPORTS Active 2 is not only available for the PS3, it is also available for the the Wii and XBox 360.

it gets hard to join a gym and have to work around schedule for sitters for the little ones.. by that time, you feel too tired to go. I like to be able to work out at home, and get the hubby and teens to join along. With all the different activities you can do, I am sure there is one the would like to do.
Thanks You!
