XEN-TAN Premium Sunless Tanning Lotions {Review & Giveaway}

I have always liked the look of a good healthy suntanned glow. As we now approach the end of June, the amount of sun here in the Midwest in comparison to the rain has been minimal {le sigh}. What's even more disappointing is that on those overcast rare sunny days, I haven't had the opportunity to get outdoors as much as I would like. The good news for me is that I got the chance to try XEN-TAN Premium Sunless Tanning lotions. Yeah me!

About XEN-TAN

XEN-TAN began when creator Dera Enochson decided she'd had enough of self-tans that looked orange. Working with chemists and testing on friends and family, she spent two years developing new formulas. XEN-TAN products were created to give a more natural color, while maintaining delicious scents, even when your tan is developing.

I was lucky enough to review two XEN-TAN sunless tanning products, the Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe and Face Tanner.

Product #1 - Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe

Deep Instant Color Time-Release Ingredient

Paraben-Free Scent Secure Protection

8 oz - Sheer instant color turns deep tan within minutes after application and lasts 7 days. Updated formula helps to even out skin tones and give the darkest tan, with no self-tan odor. Paraben-free, oil-free, Green Tea. A dark tan with time-release complex to give a tan so smooth even the fairest skins can get a beautiful bronze. Vanilla scent. 8 oz.

No Instant Color Anti-Aging Properties

Paraben-Free Green Tea Extract

2.7 oz - Treatment and tan in one application. Use daily for the smoothest tan for face and throat. Gentle lactic acid means no flaking or splotching on delicate skin so your tan is always refined. Face Tanner has no instant color, if you prefer instant color try Face Tanner Luxe. Paraben-free. Antioxidants and moisture sooth the skin while giving a light-medium self-tan. Product #1 - Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe

Upon opening the Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe, I first noticed that this lotion had a very nice fragrance and not the typical chemical self-tanner smell. A definite bonus in my book. It also had a nice thick consistency, definitely thicker than some of it's competitors that I have used in the past. I found this to be beneficial as it helped to spread out the lotion evenly. I purchased a separate tanning mitt which helped with the application. I applied the lotion in a small circular motions. The mitt absorbed quite a bit of product, so I may try disposable gloves for the next application. What was also impressive about the Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe was you immediately had instant color which gradually developed and darkened in the 2-3 hours following application. It dried super quick and I was able to sit down and not worry about the color coming off of my legs and onto my furniture.

Product #2 - Face Tanner

I've been looking for a good replacement for a discontinued self-tan face product that I was using for quite some time. I was quite impressed with XEN-TAN's Face Tanner. This colorless face tanner is the best smelling tanner I have ever tried. In addition to smelling delicious, it is actually quite moisturizing without being greasy. Once applied, it looks very natural. Regarding the application itself, I start out by putting it on my cheeks and forehead and blending a little, mostly where my skin would be exposed to the sun. I then mixed the Face Tanner with my moisturizer and blended it into my hairline, around the rest of my face, on my ears and then down onto my neck.

I have had quite a few people comment that it looked like I had been out and enjoying the sun. {love}. I'm so glad I was introduced to XEN-TAN's products! Now I can obtain that healthy sun-kissed look without having to roast spend hours in the sun. FABULOUS! Final thoughts: two {tan} thumbs up!
