I was fortunate enough to check out Glee Gum's Make Your Own Chocolate Kit, but first let me tell you a little more about Glee Gum's Make Your Own Kits. These kits:

Inside each Make Your Own Chocolate Kits you'll find: organic cocoa butter, cocoa powder, confectioner's sugar, starter crystals, a temperature indicator, paper candy liners, instructions, and the story of chocolate.

All you have to do is melt the cocoa butter, add the cocoa powder and sugar. Stir, stir, stir until it cools to the right temperature; add the starter crystals so that the chocolate "tempers," and enjoy delicious home-made chocolate from scratch! By the way, you also get some cacao beans - we thought you might like to taste a few.

Who knew that making chocolate could be so simple. In less than 45 minutes, we went from a few simple ingredients to some delightful tasting chocolates. The directions were easy to follow. All three of my children (ages 7 1/2, 6 and 3) had a FUN time making (and sampling) this yummy tasting treat. What I also found to be really cool, was that they also include two cocoa beans with the kit. This allows for the children (and adults) to see what the earliest stage of chocolate start from.... the kids did taste it (they said... ewwww) and couldn't believe that something so NOT tasty could eventually be so yum-a-licious! As we were watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... the kids were quick to point out that Willy Wonka was talking about cocoa beans, just like we were just doing. Score... it worked. They learned something! Overall, we had a great time making chocolate together. It was easy, not super messy and most importantly a GREAT TIME! 

We also got a chance to sample some Glee Gum. As I am a die-hard gum fan, this was right up my alley. Glee Gum has: all natural ingredients, rice syrup instead of corn syrup, natural chicle, delicious, long-lasting, and six popular flavors: tangerine, peppermint, cinnamon, spearmint, bubblegum and triple berry. What I absolutely loved about Glee Gum was that it does NOT have artificial preservatives, artificial flavors, artificial colors, artificial sweeteners (e.g. aspartame, saccharin or cyclamate). My favorite flavor was definitely the peppermint. My kids loved the tangerine.
